Next week I’ll be posting my round up of every book I read in 2023. As I gear up for that, I wanted to write a quick note as to what you can expect in 2024 from this here account.
I’ll be writing once a week with an essay, book review, or other piece on the things that interest me the most, meaning, mainly books, often fitness, and sometimes other things. Expect lots of book talk, but also thoughts on my other preoccupations — including fitness, outdoor adventure, demographics, AI, mindfulness, climate adaption and more.
What you won’t see will be talk about electoral politics. It’s questionable whether the world needs another substack at all, but I’m sure it doesn’t need one about the elections. Get that stuff somewhere else, you sickos.
If you know me in real life, you know that I think the world is at the beginning of a revolutionary change powered by AI and pharmacology that will upend how we live and work. I think that change will lead to more value being found in the idiosyncratic, the eccentric, and the downright weird. As I’ve advanced in my professional life I’ve downplayed my odder interests and obsessions, but that’s changing in 2024 and I’m going to showcase that change here.
2024 is the year I just go ahead and DO all the things I’ve been thinking about doing, starting with getting serious about this here substack. Hope you’ll stick around, and if you’re so inclined, throw a little money towards a subscription. I promise I’ll spend it on books and bike parts.
